 LAUTECH Has Benefitted From ASUU Struggle, We Will Not Suspend Strike – Lecturers Tells Makinde Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has disclosed that all public tertiary educational institutions are beneficiaries of the ASUU struggle. The union has disclosed that it will not pull out of the ongoing strike because all public tertiary educational institutions are beneficiaries of the ASUU struggle. Minimum Wage Arrears: 6 different schools including Universities of Agriculture were not paid the arrears of the consequential adjustment to the minimum wage. When the Union sought for explanation on why they were omitted, it was reported that the Ministry of Education excluded those under the Ministry of Agriculture. Then, the Minister of Agriculture was contacted by National leadership of ASUU and they said they were working on it.  Submissions were called from the omitted schools including ours.  Bring ASUU Strike To An End Without Further Delay – NLC President Wabba Tells Federal Government The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged the Federal Government to end the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other university-based unions. Its President, Ayuba Wabba, made the call in his contributions to the report of the Director-General of the International Labour Organisation at the 110 International Labour Conference recently.  FG Insensitive To The Welfare Of ASUU, Lecturers Working Conditions Unfavorable – Osodeke ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke during a phone interview with Ahmed Isah, a renowned television and radio host, disclosed that the working conditions of lecturers are very poor. He added that lecturers are overworking themselves, more reason why many of his union's members are leaving for other countries.  Professor Emmanuel Osodeke further used the avenue to urge Nigerians not to vote for any politician whose children are schooling abroad. Checks by Vanguard, yesterday, showed that this followed the progress being made in the meetings between the committee and the leadership of the union.
