The Board of Regents (BOR) chaired by the Chancellor and Chancellor of Landmark University, Dr. David Oyedepo, and the Vice Chancellor, Rev. (Mrs.) Faith Oyedepo, appointed Professor Charity Aremu as the 4th Vice Chancellor of Landmark University effective October 1, 2021.  This was disclosed by the Secretary to the Board, Pastor Frederick Aghahuwa at the Management meeting held on Tuesday 28th June, 2022, Pastor Aghahuwa noted that the Proprietor base approved the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor after serving meritoriously at the acting capacity for eight months.  Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charity Aremu who expressed gratitude to God for finding her worthy of the assignment, appreciated the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo and the Pro-Chancellor, Pastor (Mrs.) Faith Oyedepo for availing her the privilege to serve as the Vice-Chancellor of Landmark University.

ASUU-YSU has introduced a new strategy to alleviate the hardship caused by FG's "No Job, No Pay" policy. The Academic Staff Union of Universities’ Yobe State University chapter, who resolved to remain on strike, said they won't relent despite the government's implementation of the no work no pay policy for its members.  The union, which held its congress on June 29, 2022, after extensive deliberations, introduced a strategy to curb hardship caused by Government stoppage of salaries. “To cushion the hardship of the salary stoppage, a coping strategy is introduced via ASUU–YSU MULTIPURPOSE COOPERATIVE SOCIETY.  “Thus, interested members should contact the EXCO of the Cooperative for more details.” Mohammed Saje Jajere, the Branch’s Chairperson made this disclosure yesterday.

The Federal Government has continued its negotiations with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as the strike by the lecturers enters its fourth month. A meeting between the striking lecturers and the Professor Nimi Briggs Committee, however, ended without a concrete agreement as members planned to reconvene within 24 hours to consider a draft agreement.
